A totally tropical experience was had by the youngsters at Canvey Junior School with a visit by Caribbean steel band Juma.
The band from Trinidad and Tobago called to help the students' cultural awareness programme.
Headteacher Jan Vaughan said: "This was a delightful experience for everyone involved, and the children thoroughly enjoyed it."
The band held workshops all day long, allowing the children to try their hand at playing the steel drums, and ended the visit with a show.
