Hadleigh Forum A are fighting hard to retain their Championship crown in the Premier Division of the Southend & District Table Tennis League.
Peter Ballard and Andrew Halling were both unbeaten in their 8-1 win over Rawreth C, while Charles Sweeny was un-lucky to be denied his hat-trick by Chris Aukett in a game which went the full distance.
Forum are currently 13 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Essex Police, but the Police have three games left, which promises an exciting finale.
Hullbridge C earned themselves a 7-2 success against Rawreth C.
Peter Saunders was the maximum man while Derek Lloyd and Ben Warner were both denied hat-tricks by Rawreth's Alby Warner.
In Division One, Canvey remain second in the table behind Runnymede A following a 7-2 win over Hadleigh Forum B. Ray Wilson did most of the damage while Gavin Warner and Bob Gibbons backed him up with two wins each.
Forum B suffered another defeat by a similar scoreline against Customs A. Roy Thomas and John Beddow were both unbeaten for Customs although John had to work hard for his wins against Paul Faw-ell, 11-7 in the fifth, and Graham Farmer, 16-14 in the fifth.
